?To get the most out of your Kapiti Island experience, we suggest you take our Kapiti Day Tour which include a guided walk and delicious lunch.
But if you’d rather have the bare basics Kapiti visit, you can book a seat on the ferry without the additional guided walk and lunch. We’ll still arrange your Department of Conservation permit for you.
The rates are per person.
* If your trip is cancelled by the ferry skipper you could transfer your booking to another date (as long as the date is available) or you can contact us to request a full refund.

Our ferry departs from the Kapiti Boating Club at Paraparaumu Beach approximately 9:00am (please check your sailing time with reservations the night before as sailing times can change), and returns at approximately 3:00pm.
You can visit either Rangatira in the middle of the island, or Waiorua at the North End. More information about the differences can be found on DOCs website here.
If all you're looking for is a ferry ride to the island, the required Department of Conservation permit and an introductory talk from a guide, this is for you. This trip will take you to Rangatira Point, in the middle of Kapiti Island. Here you'll have the chance to climb the island's highest peak, or enjoy the lower tracks through old established forest. This is ideal for those who want to see the denser old growth forest, and are keen for a more demanding walk than is available at the North End.
Please note: the coastal walk at the North End is generally closed between 1 October & 31 March due to nesting seabirds.
You'll need to bring your own lunch with you. If you're looking for an all inclusive tour, check out our Kapiti Day Tour instead.
